Owner & CEO
Makis Kourtesis
Makis Kourtesis is an Andrian entrepreneur with a deep appreciation for fine wine and an authentic love for the sea. He is an experienced yachtsman, captain, and the owner of Xifias—a vessel that embodies the rich maritime heritage of Andros. Drawing on his maritime experience, he follows a unique approach to winemaking, where attention to detail and respect for tradition serve as fundamental values.
At the winery, his personality is reflected in every detail—from the careful nurturing of the vineyards and the modern facilities to the warm hospitality of the winery’s accommodations. With his steadfast commitment to quality and tradition, he aims to contribute to Andros’ growing reputation in winemaking.

Panos Zoumboulis
With over three decades of experience, Panos Zoumboulis is a renowned enologist and food technologist with a Master’s degree in Wine Tasting from Bordeaux University. His expertise lies in organic and biodynamic farming, bringing sustainability and innovation to every vineyard he advises.
Panos Zoumboulis has played a pivotal role in shaping winemaking practices both in Greece and internationally. At the Kourtesis Wine Estate, his knowledge and passion ensure that every bottle reflects the harmony of nature and human craftsmanship, creating wines of unparalleled character.
Vineyard Consultant
Eric Moro
Eric Moro brings a wealth of agronomic expertise and global experience to Kourtesis Wine Estate. Over the past 15 years, he has worked on the development and evolution of vineyards across nine regions worldwide and has overseen planting projects in more than ten countries.
Specializing in organic and biodynamic methods, Eric’s hands-on approach ensures that the Kourtesis vineyards are cultivated with care and respect for the environment, resulting in grapes of exceptional quality.

Spyros Zoumpoulis
A graduate of the University of Toulouse, he has worked at leading wineries in Greece and abroad. His name is synonymous with exceptional labels. At the winery, his contribution is invaluable, as he has enhanced the production processes and create unique products that reflect quality and tradition.

Sotiria Ambartzidi
A graduate of the Department of Wine, Vine, and Beverage Sciences of the University of West Attica and the Agricultural University of Athens, with a specialization in viticulture. At our winery, she harnesses her specialized expertise to foster the robust development of our vineyards, consistently striving to achieve a balance between tradition and innovation.
